Family pay tribute after Oldham murder charge

The family of a man murdered in a fight in Oldham on Saturday (6th December 2025) have paid tribute to him.

55-year-old Paul Anderson sadly passed away following the incident, and his family have shared heartfelt words in his memory.

They said: “Rest in peace Paul, a precious dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend who was so loved.

“A loveable rogue who wouldn’t hurt a soul, sadly taken from us in the cruellest way.

“He was a gentleman with a big heart and an incredible sense of humour. Our hearts will be forever broken”.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that David Warren Jack, born 20th October 1966 and of Plumpton Close, Royton, has been charged with murder.

Jack has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court tomorrow, 9th December 2025.

Officers are urging anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact police via 101 or the force’s Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting log 2978 of 06/12/25.
