Murder investigation after man stabbed following 'car chase'

A murder investigation has been launched in north Manchester, after a man died in hospital following a stabbing.
Emergency services were called to Cardinal Street in Cheetham Hill at around 14:25BST on Thursday (23 October).
The man was found seriously injured and given CPR at the scene, but died in hospital from his injuries.
The victim is believed to have been involved in a car chase moments before the stabbing, with a vehicle seen on flipped onto its roof on the road.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Naismith, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We are still very early in our investigation, and work is still ongoing as we establish the full circumstances following yesterday’s incident.
“However, we have secured an arrest, and multiple officers remain at the scene as part of our ongoing enquiries.
"You can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.
“Understandably, anything like this will cause worry within our local communities, but I want to reassure people that we are committing considerable resources to this investigation, and will continue to work to ensure that whoever is responsible is brought to justice.”
