Motorcyclist dies in Trafford crash

A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision on Moss Lane

A 54-year-old man has died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in Partington, Trafford.

The incident occurred at around 9.30am on Wednesday 14th May 2025, when a Citroen C1 collided with a motorbike at the junction of Moss Lane and Warburton Lane.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but tragically the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a man in his 70s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Specialist officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage capturing the incident or the moments leading up to it.
