Firefighters tackle moorland blaze near Dovestone Reservoir

Firefighters spent the night tackling a huge moorland fire which broke out near Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham on Sunday afternoon (06 April).

Emergency crews asked people to stay away from the popular walking spot while they worked to put the fire out.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue confirmed it had been put out by Monday morning (07 April), revealing the fire measured 150m x 100m at its height.
