A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Manchester city centre.
The stabbing occurred on Church Street on Friday 31st July 2026, leaving a 19-year-old victim in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Bandar Alzahar, who's 21 and has no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a weapon in a public place.
He is being held in custody and will appear in court at Manchester & Salford Magistrates on Monday, 3rd August 2026.
Police are urging anyone who saw the attack, or who might have CCTV, mobile, or dashcam footage, to come forward.
They ask people to call 101, quoting log 1580 of 31/07/2026.

Police had earlier responded to reports of an incident at around 12:50 pm on Friday.
A suspect in his early 20s was detained at Manchester Airport just three hours later and is still in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Woodburn highlighted the team's swift response:
“Our officers have worked at an incredible pace to piece together what had happened, which has led to us arresting a suspect at the Airport.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area.”
