Investigation launched after man stabbed in Manchester City Centre

31-year-old taken to hospital as police cordon off city centre street

A police investigation is underway after a 31-year-old man was found with stab injuries on Oldham Street in Manchester city centre this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.15pm this afternoon, where the injured man was quickly treated and taken to hospital.

His current condition has not been disclosed.

Greater Manchester Police said no arrests have yet been made, but officers remain at the scene as they work to establish the full timeline of events leading up to the incident.

Oldham Street has been cordoned off, and local officers are conducting additional patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents and those visiting the city.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said:

“We’d like to thank the public for their patience as Oldham Street has been cordoned off whilst officers remain in the area. Neighbourhood police officers are conducting additional patrols in the area to reassure local residents and those passing through the city centre.”
