Two charged after man left with life-threatening injuries in Manchester

Two people are set to appear in court this morning

Two people have been charged in connection with an assault in Manchester city centre on Thursday 6th November 2025.

Simon Starrs, who's 37 and of no fixed abode and Lucy Sheriff who's 34 also of no fixed abode, have been charged with assault and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday 8th November 2025).

Another female who was also arrested on suspicion of assault has been bailed with conditions.

At 5.44pm police were called to Back Piccadilly after a man had been found with life-threatening injuries. The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The dedicated Piccadilly Gardens policing neighbourhood team will be patrolling the area to provide reassurance and visibility to our communities.
