Three men arrested following Market Street altercation in Shaw
Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured during a violent altercation in Oldham.
At around 8.25pm on Saturday 15th June, officers from Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of a group of men fighting on Market Street in Shaw.
On arrival, they discovered a man with a serious slash wound. He was taken to hospital where his injuries, although serious, are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
An investigation was immediately launched, and three men were arrested on suspicion of affray. All three remain in custody for questioning.
Detectives are now asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
Detective Inspector Roberto Dicorato, from GMP’s Oldham district, said: “We are still investigating the full circumstances of last night's incident and have already made a number of arrests. As this work continues, we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
“Your information could greatly assist with our ongoing work – and you can choose to come to us directly or anonymously.”
