Man in court charged over Manchester synagogue terror attack
He's due to appear at the Old Bailey next month
A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the terror attack on a Manchester synagogue.
Hekmat Omar Ali Hakim, a 49-year-old Iraqi national of St James Road in Higher Broughton, is charged with failing to disclose information regarding terrorist activity.
He appeared by video link, accompanied by an interpreter, at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday morning.
He spoke only to confirm his name and to indicate a not guilty plea.
Worshippers Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby were killed in the attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall on 2nd October 2025.
The attack took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism.
Three other men were treated in hospital for serious injuries and later released.
Hakim was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 25th September 2026.
