Man dies weeks after being hit by car in Manchester

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking witnesses to come forward

A 72-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car while crossing a road in Manchester.

He was struck on Upper Brook Street at around 8.25am on 27th October 2025.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but he died from his injuries on 19th November. The driver stayed at the scene and spoke with officers.

Appeal for witnesses

PC Nicola Heap said: “This was a tragic incident and all of our thoughts remain with the man's family and friends during this difficult time.

“Officers are continuing to provide specialist support to the family while our work continues, and we are still appealing for information as part of our investigation.

“If anyone who witnessed the incident has information, we would urge them to get in touch to assist with our enquiries.”

Officers are asking anyone who saw what happened to contact 0161 856 4741 or call 101 quoting incident 577 of 27/10/25.

They also want to hear from people with dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage.
