Man dies in M6 crash
The crash involved a white van and a crane truck
A man has died after a crash involving a crane truck on the M6.
The incident, also involving a white Renault van, happened at around 7:45pm yesterday (3 March) on the M6 between junctions 16 and 17.
A passenger in the van, a 34-year-old man from the Manchester area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The van driver, a 30-year-old man, also from the Manchester area, is receiving hospital treatment after suffering serious injuries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses who've not already spoken to police, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of what happened.
Inspector Andrew Dennison said:
"As part of our investigation into the circumstances of this tragic incident, we would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to get in touch with us.
“The same goes for anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage.
"Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this sad time."
