Manchester City signs 17-year-old Jeremy Monga from Leicester
Teenage winger joins City's squad on a five-year deal
Manchester City have secured the signing of teenage winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City on a five-year contract, solidifying their squad with young talent.
The 17-year-old, who debuted in the Premier League at just 15, chose to join City despite interest from several top clubs.
Monga, who featured in 37 matches for Leicester and was their youngest starter in history, arrives at Manchester City under Enzo Maresca's leadership.
The transfer deal is worth around £10 million, including add-ons, and extends Monga's contract with City until 2031.
Monga is now the third English newcomer to join Manchester City this summer, following the acquisition of goalkeeper Pierce Charles and top signing Elliot Anderson.
He made his Premier League debut as a second-half substitute during Leicester's 3-0 defeat to Newcastle in April 2025, under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, and started for the first time in the Carabao Cup against Huddersfield in August 2025.
As an England Under 19 international, Monga stands as the third-youngest player to ever participate in the Premier League, following Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.
Expressing his enthusiasm about joining the team, Monga told City's website: “When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me."
He continued, "For any young footballer, to become part of this amazing club is a dream come true. This has been the best club in England over the past 10 years. And it has also handed opportunities to players from the academy like Phil Foden and Nico O’Reilly which shows that the pathway is there. It is a privilege to be here and I’m delighted to have joined.”
Monga's addition to the squad reflects City's commitment to nurturing young talent and maintaining their status as one of England's leading football clubs.
