Man charged over suspected XL Bully attack in Warrington

The attack has left an 84-year-old man in critical condition in a hospital

A man has been charged after a dog attack in Warrington has left an 84-year-old man in a critical condition in hospital.

Sean Garner was arrested on Wednesday 26 January following the incident on Monday 24 February where an 84-year-old man was attacked by a dog on Bardsley Avenue.

The 30-year-old of Keybank Road, Liverpool, has since been charged with one count of being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control causing serious injury and one count of possession of a fighting dog.

Garner has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court later today, Thursday 27 February.

A 29-year-old woman who was arrested as part of the investigation has been released on conditional bail.

The victim remains in hospital at this time where his condition is described as critical.
