Man charged after car crashes in police pursuit in Tyldesley

A man has been charged after a car crashed on Castle Street in Tyldesley following a police chase.

Clifton Webber from Crumpsall faces several charges including threats to kill, assault and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court early next year.

Greater Manchester Police say Clifton Webber (14/08/1986) of Brynorme Road, Crumpsall, has been charged with the following counts:

  • Threats to kill
  • Two counts of assault by beating
  • Two counts of criminal damage
  • Aggravated vehicle taking
  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving without a license

He has been remanded into custody to next appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on 06/01/2026.

The charges are in relation to an incident involving a car which crashed on Castle Street, Tyldesley following a police pursuit on Tuesday 4 November 2025.
