M60 remains closed after eight vehicle pile-up
A clean up operation is underway after a lorry smashed through the central reservation
The M60 has remained closed this morning (Tuesday 08 July) following a pile-up involving eight vehicles.
Emergency repairs are being carried out after a lorry smashed through the central reservation and another dropped a load of beer barrels.
Eight vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened between J25 (Brinnington) and J1 (Stockport Pyramid) at around 11:30BST on Monday morning.
National Highways has warned drivers of long delays, with diversions in place through Stockport.
It is not known when the motorway will reopen.
There were no major injuries among those involved in the crash, although three people were taken to hospital.
