A teenage girl has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder two students and a teacher, after a knife attack in a form class at a school in Manchester.
The girl, 14, who cannot be named because of her age, appeared via video-link at the Old Bailey on Friday charged with three counts of attempted murder and two counts of possessing a bladed article on school premises on June 9.
Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb told the defendant the short preliminary hearing was to timetable the case.
The alleged attack is being investigated by Counter Terrorism Police but has not been declared a terrorist incident.
Two pupils, both 14, and a male member of staff, 27, were injured in the incident at a school in north Manchester on June 9, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) previously said.
All three have been discharged from hospital and suffered no serious injuries, GMP also said.
The girl was remanded into custody and told to attend a plea and trial preparation hearing at the same court on October 23.
Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb told her: “In the meantime, I am sure you will understand it is in your best interest to co-operate with your lawyers.”
