A former supply teacher from Greater Manchester has pleaded guilty to multiple child sex offencs - including using AI to make images of children.

Abusali Rahman, a 33-year-old British national of Bangladeshi ethnicity from Salford, plead guilty to several charges, including 12 counts related to taking indecent photographs of children obtained through upskirting, three counts of publishing obscene articles using AI-generated sexualised images, three counts of making indecent photographs using AI, and one count of distributing an indecent photograph obtained via upskirting.

Additional charges against Rahman include attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming via online chat and operating equipment beneath clothing without consent.

The investigation has identified 13 girls aged between 13 and 16 from seven high schools across three Greater Manchester boroughs: Bury, Bolton, and Salford. Efforts are ongoing to identify four more girls from two schools.

Rahman was arrested in June 2025 after a parent raised concerns about an image being circulated on social media. This led to a detailed investigation by the Online Child Abuse Investigation Team, uncovering further images and evidence prompting upskirting accusations.
