Police investigation targets suspected drug dealing operations

Six warrants were executed by police on Monday, 13th July 2026, as part of an investigation into drug distribution across central Manchester and Stockport.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team covering Gorton and Levenshulme conducted the raids at properties in Ancoats, Gorton, and Stockport, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply and possession of Class A, B, and C drugs.
He remains in custody for further questioning.
Meanwhile, a woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A and B drugs, although she has been released on police bail.
Police seized a substantial amount of Class A and B substances, cash, and several e-bikes believed to facilitate drug dealing activities.
In a preliminary search of a Gorton property, cannabis worth approximately £50,000 was discovered inside a washing machine.
Inspector Zac Campbell from the Neighbourhood Policing Team stated, “This morning’s warrants are a result of months of dedicated work by officers who have gathered intelligence and evidence about suspected drug dealing in the community."
Campbell highlighted the adverse effects of drug activities, such as exploitation, violence, and anti-social behaviour, emphasising their commitment to bringing offenders to justice.
The inspector commended the collaborative efforts across Greater Manchester Police (GMP) teams, reinforcing the initiative’s success as several specialist teams united to address the drug-related crime.
He urged anyone with knowledge of criminal activities to report it, either by calling 101 non-emergency or 999 in urgent situations.
