Disruption to trains between Bolton and Blackburn as tunnel closed

Passengers are being warned of major disruption to trains between Bolton and Blackburn after a tunnel was closed.

Network Rail said urgent repairs were needed to the Slough tunnel, meaning that all lines are closed, with disruption expected until the end of Sunday (17 May).

Anyone planning to travel is advised that services between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn via Bolton will start and terminate at Bolton.

Services between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn via Todmorden are not affected by the disruption.
