Detectives appeal for information after woman found dead in Macclesfield
Emergency services were called to Pearson Street on Friday evening, where a 72-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for information following the unexplained death of a woman in Macclesfield.
Emergency services were called to an address on Pearson Street at around 6:48pm on Friday 18th July, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman.
Sadly, a 72-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained while detectives carry out enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector David Hutcheon said:
“We’re in the early stages of our investigation and are working to establish exactly what has happened. At this time, it appears to be an isolated incident.”
A police presence remains in the area as part of the investigation and to reassure the local community.
Officers are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Pearson Street area—or who has CCTV, dashcam, or video doorbell footage—to come forward.
