Family pay tribute to 19-year-old killed in Bolton crash
Mohammad Danyaal Asghar-Ali tragically lost his life in the incident
The family of Mohammad Danyaal Asghar-Ali, who died in a fatal crash on Wigan Road in Bolton, have paid tribute to a “loving and caring” son and brother.
The incident, which occurred at around 12:45am on Sunday 11th January 2025, claimed the lives of four men, including Danyaal, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Several others were injured as a result of the crash. A 29-year-old woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, while a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man experienced serious injuries. A 29-year-old man and 18-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
In an emotional statement, Danyaal’s family shared memories of him, describing the deep void left by his loss and expressing sympathy for others affected by the tragedy.
“He was my heart, my soul, my everything,” Danyaal’s mother said. “He was my first-born, my baby. I can’t express the emptiness he has left inside me. I keep having to remind myself that I will never see his smile, never hear his laugh, never get to hug him ever again.
"Danyaal was such a good boy; he gave love and respect to everyone. He never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. He was and always will be deeply loved by all. He was his dad’s best friend, and this tragedy has left his dad broken.
“He will never be forgotten; we will always keep his caring, loving memories alive. My condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones, and my deepest sympathy goes out to those injured in this horrific tragedy.”
Danyaal’s siblings each shared their reflections about their brother, highlighting his humour, dedication to his faith, and the close bonds he shared with his family and friends.
His sister said: “Danyaal had this incredible gift for making any room brighter the moment he walked in. His smile alone could change the atmosphere.
“I never imagined losing him at 19, and I can't fathom how I'm going to live my life without him. He was fiercely loyal to his friendships, his thoughtfulness immense, and his heart truly pure.”
Another sister recounted their special connection, saying Danyaal had a way of brightening even the dullest moments.
“He was always joking and laughing; his laugh was even funnier than the joke itself. Me and him had a bond I can’t explain—now I just wish he could say one more joke or one of his cheeky phrases again. He will always be loved and never forgotten.”
Danyaal’s brother commented, “Bhai was the funniest person I’ve ever known. He would never say the words ‘I love you,’ but he showed it in other ways, whether by joking around, playing with us, or cooking for us.
“He inspired so many, including me. I copied everything he did, and he shaped me into the person I am today.”
