The 40-year-old was last seen shortly before midnight on Saturday 26th July 2025, climbing into Heaton Park after leaving an address on King's Close. CCTV footage showed him heading towards Bury Old Road near Kenyon Lane before entering the park alone and on foot.

An extensive search was carried out in and around Heaton Park by Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, officers believe the body is that of Craig Foy. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Jill Billington, from GMP’s Serious Crime Division, said:

“The investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to Craig’s death, and to ensure that we can get the answers that his family deserve.

“We appreciate the support of the public in sharing our appeals to locate Craig and ask for his family to be given privacy, space and time to process their loss.”

As part of the investigation, three people were arrested on suspicion of murder. Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that one man has been released on bail, while the other two have been released with no further action.

Craig was described as 5ft 5in tall, of slim build with dark hair shaved at the sides. He was last seen wearing a black cap, square glasses, black T-shirt, black cargo trousers, and black Nike trainers.
