Greater Manchester Police have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of indecent exposure, following several reported incidents in the Wardle area of Rochdale this week.

Officers are investigating four reported incidents at Water Grove Reservoir and Wardle Park between Monday 16 and Thursday 19 June, where a man is alleged to have exposed himself to women and girls walking by.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Jay-Naren Uppal said, “Following these extremely concerning reports made to us, we have made a swift arrest and that man remains in our custody.

“Additional patrols and resources have been deployed to the area, so that those enjoying these open spaces in the warm weather feel safe.

“We take reports of this nature incredibly seriously and hope that members of the community are reassured by the action taken.

“Victims of reported exposure incidents will be listened to, believed, and supported through the process. If you believe you have been a victim of a similar incident in this area and have not yet reported this to us, we encourage you to get in touch.”

Anyone who has been a victim or witnessed an incident of indecent exposure is encouraged to contact GMP on 101, Live Chat service, or via their online reporting tool on Home | Greater Manchester Police.
