Woman injured in apparent shooting in Walthamstow
Police patrols are being stepped up in the area
Police are investigating reports of a shooting in Walthamstow in east London which has left a woman in hospital.
It happened just after midnight on Howard Road.
Paramedics treated a 36-year-old woman before taking her to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
No arrests have yet been made
The Metropolitan police say they understand this has caused concern in the community and there will be an increased police presence in the area.
The incident is being investigated by Trident North East Specialist Crime Command.
