Woman's death in Croydon being investigated as murder
A 53-year-old woman's death in Croydon is being investigated as murder, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The woman was found at a house in Furze Road, Thornton Heath at around 9.20am on Wednesday 27 May following calls about concerns for her welfare.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men and a woman - aged between 44 and 69 - are being questioned after being arrested at the property.
Officers say they are trying to locate her next of kin.
Detective Sergeant Suzanne Harris, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with the victim and her family at this difficult time.
"While we recognise the concern an incident like this will cause, I'd like to reassure locals that we believe this to be an isolated incident.
"Residents can expect to see an increase in police presence over the coming days and must not hesitate to speak to police on the ground if they have any questions or concerns.
"In the meantime, my team and are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and are asking anyone with information to get in touch as a matter of urgency."
