A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a car hit pedestrians in central London in the early hours of Sunday.
A woman in her 30s remains in a life-threatening condition and a man in his 50s suffered life-changing injuries after they were hit by a car in Argyll Street, Westminster, at around 4.30am on Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said.
A second woman in her 30s suffered minor injuries, the force added.
Gabrielle Carrington, 29, of Broadfield Road, Manchester, has been charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm and drink driving, police said on Monday evening.
She has been remanded in custody ahead of her first appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Police say the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
The Met are also urging the public not to share footage. In a statement they say;
Since the collision, we have been made aware of extremely graphic footage of the incident circulating online. We are urging the public to refrain from sharing this, out of respect for the victims, and so as not to prejudice criminal proceedings.
