Southwark man jailed for stabbing five former colleagues
Babah Sesay carried out the attack at his former work place in January
A man's beginning a 16 year jail sentence for attacking former colleagues and stabbing five people at his old work place in London.
31-year-old Babah Sesay admitted ten charges in March, including five counts of wounding with intent, two counts of aggravated burglary, one count of actual bodily harm, one count of assault by beating and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.
Sesay, of Rodney Road, Southwark, burst into a distribution centre in Marlowe Way, Beddington, on January 23rd, 2025, and stabbed five of his former colleagues when they tried to apprehend him.
Five men were taken to hospital after the incident, but all suffered non life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
Sesay was found at a nearby fast food restaurant and later arrested. He was sentenced last Friday at Croydon Crown Court.
Chief Superintendent Nick Blackburn, local policing commander for south London, said: “This significant jail term provides justice to the victims and highlights to the people of London that we will not tolerate violence in any form.
“No one should go to work and fear for their safety. The swift actions of our first responding officers meant no one was seriously hurt in this terrifying incident and I’d like to personally thank them again for their bravery.”
