Police tell us they're trying to track down a man who is believed to have returned to the scene of a knife attack in north west London

The attack itself happened in July, but this man went back to Willesden on Friday

Officers responded to reports of an altercation on Monday, 7 July at 11:45hrs in Willesden High Road, NW10.

When they arrived at the scene, the victim - a man in his 30s - was suffering facial injuries having been slashed with a knife. He was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital where his injuries were confirmed to be non-life-changing or life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation so far has led police to believe that the attack was unprovoked.

The person they are seeking to identify is a 6ft tall Black man, with a medium build. He has a bald head and facial hair in the style of a goatee. When captured on CCTV, he was wearing a white hoodie with black print on the arms, and red tracksuit trousers.

On Friday, 29 August, the man is believed to have re-visited the location to ask about what happened during the incident. He is seen on CCTV wearing a navy t-shirt with ‘Lost in the Waves’ written across the front, and light blue jeans.

Detective Constable Gabriela Cociasi, leading the investigation, said:

“This attack happened in the middle of the morning on a busy high street. Its brazen nature will understandably alarm the community, however our officers continue to work tirelessly to identify the suspect. We now need your help.

“If anyone knows who this man is, or has any information in relation to the incident on Monday, 7 July, please contact us as a matter of urgency on 101 quoting CAD 3149/07JUL25. If you see him in the community, do not approach him and instead dial 999.”
