Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing outside a Peckham nightclub as 26-year-old Aurelio Mejia.

The police have informed Mejia's next-of-kin and are offering them specialist support.

The incident occurred at approximately 03:54 on East Monday on Ruby Street when police were alerted to a disturbance involving a group of people.

Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found Mejia with stab wounds, but he died at the scene despite efforts to save him.

Two additional men were injured and discovered at the location.

One, aged 24, was hospitalised and later arrested on suspicion of murder after his condition was assessed as non-life-threatening.

The other man, in his 20s, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, four men were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Among them is an 18-year-old and three 24-year-olds, all of whom are still in custody.

The Metropolitan Police have stated that their thoughts are with Mejia's family.

They also noted the increased police presence in the area as efforts to gather further information continue.

Given the setting outside a busy nightclub, investigators believe there might be many witnesses.

The police urge anyone with information, dashcam, or mobile phone footage relevant to the investigation to contact them.
