Neasden fire causes third day of Tube disruption near Wembley Stadium
Major blaze at waste facility affects services on Metropolitan and Jubilee lines
For the third consecutive day, Tube services in north London continue to be disrupted following a significant fire near Wembley Stadium.
The blaze, which occurred at a mixed waste facility on an industrial estate in Neasden, necessitated the response of approximately 125 firefighters after it ignited just after 11.30am on Friday.
Large plumes of smoke were visible over the city, with emergency crews working diligently to contain the situation into the evening.
The Metropolitan and Jubilee lines have been particularly affected due to the fire's proximity to rail lines.
Transport for London’s service update states there is no service between Baker Street and Aldgate on the Metropolitan line, accompanied by severe delays across the rest of the line.
The Jubilee line is also experiencing severe delays, and Neasden station remains closed.
Despite initial disruption, National Rail has reported no further delays to services to and from London Marylebone.
The London Fire Brigade is currently investigating the cause of the fire and its impact on the surrounding area.
