Inspector facing serious charges suspended from duty
A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Inspector Jason Wu, who is attached to Met Detention and based at Colindale, is expected to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 29th July.
The charges pertain to alleged offences against a woman in August 2019 and October 2021, first reported in June 2022.
Following detailed investigations by Met detectives in the public protection unit, the case was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, leading to authorised charges.
Wu received a postal charge and requisition on 15th May 2026 and is currently suspended from duty.
The investigation underscores the Met’s commitment to tackling allegations and pursuing justice irrespective of circumstances.
