Man charged after motorcyclist dies in Romford collision
Charges include causing death and driving-related offences
A man has been charged in the investigation into a fatal collision on the A12 in Romford involving a car and a motorbike.
The incident occurred on 19th July at 21:20, resulting in the tragic death of 28-year-old motorcyclist Anwar Shinwari at the scene.
Emergency services, including the police, London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance, and London Fire Brigade, attended, but Shinwari’s life could not be saved.
Police launched an investigation when the car's driver fled on foot.
On 25th July, Lee Culleton, 45, from Rattwick Drive, Canvey Island, was arrested and charged.
Culleton faces multiple charges, including causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified, and fraudulent use of a registration mark.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 27th July, where he was remanded into custody.
Culleton is scheduled for his next court appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 25th August.
