Man caught with over £3,000 worth of drugs at Cambridgeshire festival jailed
He's been sentenced to three years and three months imprisonment.
A man has been jailed after he was found at a Cambridgeshire music festival with more than £3,000 worth of drugs.
42-year-old Michael O’Sullivan attended the Secret Garden Party, in Abbots Ripton, on 23rd July 2022 and was stopped and searched by security.
Drugs were discovered in his bag, including nine MDMA tablets, and more than 50 wraps of cocaine, totalling almost 50 grams.
O’Sullivan, of Blair Avenue, Kingsbury, in north-west London, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (23rd May) where he was sentenced to three years and three months imprisonment, after previously pleading guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
DC Joe Passby, who investigated, said: “O’Sullivan travelled to the festival from London with the intention of dealing drugs.
“While a majority of festivalgoers are respectful and law-abiding, the minority who choose to deal drugs will be dealt with in the same way as they would outside of a festival setting.
“This sentence reflects how seriously drug dealing is treated in our county.”
