Investigation into Tower Hamlets collision following death of cyclist

An investigation's on into reports after a man died following a collision between a car and a cyclist in Tower Hamlets.

A 23-year-old cyclist was found with serious injuries in Commercial Road, E1, at 12.45pm on Wednesday 14 January.

He was taken to hospital where he sadly later died on Monday, 19 January.

His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Kirsty Troy who is leading the investigation said: “This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the young man’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have dash‑cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, to come forward as soon as possible.”
