Firearms suspect shot by police in Walthamstow
The Metropolitan Police say they're investigating the circumstances surrounding a man being shot by armed officers in Walthamstow.
He's in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
Police say they were called to a property in Stow Crescent in Walthamstow at 10am on Friday 10th October, to reports a man had a firearm and was making threats to kill.
After several hours of negotiations, they say they had reason to enter the property and "officers discharged their weapons".
The man was treated at the scene by medics and then transferred to hospital, where he's in a life-threatening condition.
They later found what they believe to be a gun.
Cordons are still in place, but officers says the incident has been contained and there's no wider threat to the public.
