West London nightclub will open in a few days after fire
A blaze broke out at Kensington Roof Gardens in the early hours of Monday.
A London nightclub popular with celebrities has said it will reopen in the next few days after 80 firefighters were called to a blaze at the premises in the early hours of Monday.
The fire broke out at Kensington Roof Gardens - which has hosted the likes of Madonna and Sir Cliff Richard - just before 1am, London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.
The LFB said that when they arrived at the west London venue, around 40 people had already been evacuated.
It added the fire destroyed a plant room on the roof of the nine-storey building, while the cause of the fire is "under investigation".
The venue was home to four flamingos before the pandemic.
A spokesperson for the nightclub said: "Nobody was hurt and there is no fire damage inside the building.
"As a precaution, we are carrying out safety checks and hope to reopen in the next few days."
