Faulty toaster causes fire which destroys house in Walthamstow
Four rooves of nearby properties were also damaged.
Around 70 firefighters have tackled a house fire which it's thought was caused accidentally by a faulty toaster in North London.
London Fire Brigade officers were called to Hale End Road, Walthamstow, at around 10:20am on Easter Sunday 5 April.
One terraced house was destroyed, and a small part of the roof of four neighbouring properties was damaged.
One man left the building before the Brigade arrived. There are no reports of any injuries.
The fire was under control by 1:40pm.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Avoid keeping items such as toasters under cupboards or in contact with combustible items such as tea towels or kitchen roll to prevent heat build-up.
"It's also important to make sure you keep toasters clean to help prevent fires.
