Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing near Archway Station

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing close to Archway Station on Saturday.

Police were called at around 10:30pm, after a man was admitted to hospital with stab wounds. The 20 year old remains in a life threatening condition.

Investigations indicate the assault had taken place in the area of Navigator Square.

A 22 year old man was arrested on Sunday (February 16) and remains in custody.

Witnesses are now being urged to come forward.

Detective Inspector Anna Deighton, of the Metropolitan Police, said:

“Our officers worked quickly to establish where this assault occurred, putting a cordon in place and carrying out enquiries in the area. Yesterday evening, a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in custody.

“Residents and visitors to the area will have noticed an increased police presence whilst this investigation remains ongoing.

“We have designated officers on reassurance patrols, to answer questions that the public may have.

“I encourage anyone who has information but may not have contacted police yet to get in touch and assist with this investigation.”
