15-year-old boy arrested following fatal stabbing in Wembley
Police were called to Brent Civic Centre yesterday afternoon.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death inside Brent Council's main building.
Police were called to the Brent Civic Centre at 2:30pm on the 25th of August to reports of a stabbing.
17-year-old David Wynter was found with stab wounds but, despite the efforts of paramedics, died at the scene.
Following the stabbing, a section 60 notice was authorised, giving police more stop and search powers in the areas of Wembley Park, Barnhill, Tokyngton, Stonebridge, Roundwood, Dollis Hill, Willesden and Welsh Harp ward areas of Brent.
The order remains in place until 3:30am on Thursday 27th August.
Superintendent Chris Clarke, lead for emergency response policing in the area, said: “This was a tragic incident, and we are aware of the significant concern the stabbing has caused in the local community. A police presence remains in and around the crime scene.
“We would like to reiterate that officers do not believe there is any wider risk to the community.”
Police are continuing to urge anyone with information to come forward.
