The family of a 19-month old girl from Liverpool who suffered a brain hemorrhage whilst on holiday in Mexico have paid tribute to everyone who's donated to help bring her home.

Sienna-Rose collapsed in Cancun and underwent life-saving surgery - she has also been battling an infection she caught after the operation.

A GoFundMe page was set up for Sienna's Rose's mum Tasha by her sister-in-law Amy McFadden to help get enough money to fly Sienna-Rose home safely.

Nearly £150,000 has been raised so far, and with help from the charity Lia's Wings, Sienna-Rose is due to fly home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She'll then go to Alder Hey for further treatment.

Amy McFadden said:

"She's still very unwell from the infection that she's had after her operation, but she is on the right antibiotics now. They have put a feeding tube in her so she's getting some nutrients in her now and she seems to be doing a lot better than she was when she was constantly throwing up and in pain.

"She's very fatigued so she's sleeping a lot, she's probably fighting off whatever she's got isn't she - but either way, she'll still be on that plane early Saturday morning.

"It's a horrific situation we've been in, but I feel like it's only been today I've sat down and soaked it all in because at the time you're just living in the moment and you've got to get this done and that done.

"My main objective was just to get her home in the quickest and safest way possible, which is how we came across Lia's Wings who have been absolutely amazing. I cannot thank them enough for their support that they have given us as a family throughout this.

"They have dealt with everything - sorting the flights, making sure she's in the right care when she gets back and there's so much more as well that they've helped with financially because they made a huge donation too."

More than 8,000 donations have been made since the GoFundMe page was launched - it currently stands at just over £147,000.

Ms McFadden added:

"It's so overwhelming how the city has pulled together and it just shows how we are as people - we are good people and we do help each other when we're in need and I am just so proud to be from this city.

"It's just amazing in less than a week how everyone has pulled together and we've got her home. It's just so overwhelming.

"We just needed that confirmation that she was coming home"

"Since we've had that confirmation, a weight has been lifted and we're all in a much more positive mood. We just needed that confirmation that she was coming home.

"I'm so proud how Tasha (Sienna's mum) has been a voice for Sienna over there, thousands of miles away in a foreign country when they don't even speak our language. She's been logical and she's been amazing.

"Thank you to everyone who has donated, they have been Sienna's guardian angels because without any of their help, we wouldn't have got her home."
