Police urge witnesses to come forward after serious collision on Edge Lane

A 10-year-old boy is in hospital following a serious collision involving a car on Edge Lane in Liverpool.

The incident occurred near Liverpool Shopping Park just after 7pm on 26th May when the young boy, who was riding a bicycle, was struck by a white Seat Arona.

He sustained serious head injuries and remains in a stable condition at the hospital.

The driver, a woman in her 30s, stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police investigations.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision near Marks and Spencer and Kwik Fit or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Sergeant Mark Milner from Merseyside Police Roads Policing stressed the importance of gathering evidence to understand the circumstances of the collision:

“This was a serious collision in a busy area of Liverpool which has left a young boy in hospital with several injuries.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this collision and would appeal to anyone who was passing near Marks and Spencer and Kwik Fit and may have witnessed the incident to please contact us.

“Similarly, if you have dashcam fitted in your vehicle or work or live in the area and have any CCTV or doorbell footage that may have captured the collision yesterday evening please contact us as soon as possible.

“It may be that your evidence however small, may help us to piece together how this happened.”
