Arrest made after Samurai sword found on the Wirral
A 22-year-old has been released under investigation
Officers have arrested a man following the discovery of suspected drugs and Samurai-style sword in Wirral.
On Tuesday evening, 4 March, officers were on patrol when they noticed a man acting suspiciously after getting out of a taxi and later returning to the vehicle on Victoria Field in Tranmere.
The taxi was stop searched and cannabis was found on the male passenger and he man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
A further search was carried out at an address in Tranmere and officers found a large bag of white powder, suspected to be ketamine, cannabis, and a large Samurai-style sword, a quantity of money, mobile phones and drugs paraphernalia inside the premises.
A 22-year-old man from Wirral was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, Ketamine and cannabis, possession of criminal property and possession of an offensive weapon in a private dwelling. He has been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield said: "Drug dealing is a blight on our community, causes misery to families and often involves the exploitation of children.
“We are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious and organised criminality across Merseyside.
“Our work to bring these people to justice will continue on a daily basis and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so action can be taken.”
