Witnesses sort after motorcycle collision in East Cowick

Four motorcycles were travelling on Thorne Road when two of them collided

Police are appealing for information following a collision involving two motorcycles on Thorne Road (A614) near East Cowick.

The incident occurred around 11am on Friday, 24th April 2026, at the junction with Between Rivers Lane.

It is reported that four motorcycles were travelling southbound on Thorne Road when two of them, a Triumph Thunderbird and a Harley Davidson, collided.

Emergency services attended the scene, and both riders were transported to hospital for treatment.

The rider of the Triumph, a 52-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old rider of the Harley Davidson has since been discharged after receiving treatment for his injuries.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or possess dashcam footage to contact them.
