Two people have died in separate sea emergencies off the coast of Skegness within days of each other.

Lincolnshire Police say coastguards were called just after 6.25pm on Tuesday 12 August to reports of a man in difficulty in the water.

The man, aged in his thirties, was brought to shore but was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

It comes after another rescue on Friday 8 August, when a woman in her sixties was pulled from the sea by the coastguard.

She was also pronounced dead after being brought to land.

Police say their thoughts are with the families and friends of both people at this difficult time.
