Police were called to the George Hotel in High Street St Martin’s just before 10pm on Saturday, May 2, following reports of a group of people fighting in the hotel car park.

A 62-year-old man was injured during the incident and was treated for non-serious injuries. Police say the injuries appear to have been caused by being slashed with a bladed weapon.

A 25-year-old man and a 48-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident.

The 25-year-old man has since been bailed, while the 48-year-old man has been released with no further action.

Several people were spoken to at the time and other lines of enquiry have been explored, but investigating officers are still keen to hear from anyone who has not yet spoken to police.

Anyone who was in the area of the George Hotel at the time, or who saw or heard anything, is being asked to contact police.
