Officers are investigating reports of suspected arson after five vehicles were discovered on fire on Barmouth Drive in Grimsby at around 12:40am this morning (Tuesday, 14 October 2025).

Leading the investigation, Sergeant Jack Bradford from the Criminal Investigation Department said: “Thankfully, no one has been injured as a result of the fires, and enquiries remain ongoing as we look to determine the full circumstances around the report.

Since we received the report, officers have been conducting house to house enquiries and trawling through CCTV in and around the area to ascertain how the vehicles came to be on fire and identify anyone suspected to be involved.

Following enquiries so far, we have identified two people believed to be in the area at the time. One of them is described as wearing all dark clothing with a light-coloured cap, dark trousers with a light-coloured stripe, and black shoes, and the other is described as also wearing all dark clothing and a cap, and black shoes with light coloured laces.

Local residents can expect to see an increase in police presence as officers provide reassurance and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

If anyone has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time the incident is believed to have occurred, please speak to officers when you see them out and about or call our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*143738.”

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
