Suspect arrested after stabbing in Newark
17-year old by arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
Detectives have arrested a 17-year-old boy after a man was stabbed in Newark.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was attacked outside a property in Parliament Street at around 7.20pm on Monday, September 22. He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police carried out door-to-door enquiries, forensic work and CCTV checks before making the arrest. The teenager remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Detective Sergeant James Hirst said officers believe the incident was isolated and involved people known to each other. Extra patrols have also been deployed to reassure residents.
