A 15-year-old boy from Skegness has been charged with seven anti-social behaviour (ASB) offences that occurred between 10th and 12th September, including criminal damage to a car and bus, multiple shop thefts, and wasting police time.

Lincolnshire Police announced the teen is scheduled to appear at Lincoln Youth Court for a plea hearing on 21st October.

Four other teenagers involved received out-of-court interventions; two were issued warning letters and two entered into Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs). These measures aim to address behaviour at an early stage, encouraging positive conduct and preventing further incidents.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matt Neal emphasized the significant impact ASB can have on the community's quality of life, stressing the importance of addressing such behaviour seriously.

"We work closely with partners, including Futures4Me and children’s services, to engage with young people and address the underlying causes of their behaviour," Neal stated.

He reassured residents of a proactive stance against ASB, ensuring Skegness and its surrounding areas remain safe and welcoming.

The interventions are designed to provide reassurance by laying out expectations and potential consequences, from incremental enforcement to court orders if necessary.
