A three-month closure order has been imposed on a property on Lumley Avenue, Skegness, due to persistent reports of serious anti-social behaviour.

The order was granted by Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3rd November, following efforts by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. The property, known as The Old Rectory, was associated with activities that left residents distressed and significantly impacted by disruptions. Allegations included drug dealing, drug use, and a high volume of visitors entering and leaving the premises at all hours.

This closure order is the result of extensive evidence collected by the policing team, which included witness statements and CCTV footage.

Sergeant Matt Neal of East Lindsey's Neighbourhood Policing Team stated that the issues linked to this property had a considerable impact on the community. He noted, "The persistent issues associated with this property were having a considerable impact on the surrounding community, with residents repeatedly reporting behaviour that was causing alarm, distress, and disruption. We have listened to those concerns and worked extensively to build the evidence required to secure this closure order."

He added that closure orders are vital tools in tackling anti-social behaviour and protecting communities. He hopes this action reassures local residents that serious concerns raised through the proper channels will be acted upon.
