A Skegness man who committed a series of sexual offences against children has been jailed for two years and six months.

Matthew Marvill, 41, of Dorothy Avenue, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday (14 August) after admitting multiple offences.

The court heard that over a three-year period in the Chapel St Leonards area, Marvill sent sexual images, engaged in inappropriate conversations and performed sexual acts in front of his victims.

His three victims were all under the age of 16 at the time.

Marvill had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

He was convicted of a range of offences, including sexual communication with children, exposure, sexual activity in the presence of children, sexual assault on a female, and multiple counts of assaulting girls under 13 by touching.

Detective Constable Carla Sutton said: “Marvill acted in a wholly inappropriate manner and performed appalling acts in front of young children.

“This behaviour won’t be tolerated in Lincolnshire or society at large and thanks to the courage and strength of the children involved, he won’t be able to abuse anyone else.

“We would encourage anyone who has been abused in this fashion to contact us. We’re here to listen and our specially trained officers will provide as much support as possible.”

Police are urging anyone who has been the victim of rape, sexual assault, or any other sexual offence to come forward and report it.
